This summer is bringing me back to last summer memories and this beautiful set. It is a unusually cold summer - so green and fresh, and rainy... the red flower extravaganza pops in my mind as a memory of something from the past, while still something, I like on a gloomy day.
Last summer brought a very interesting floral print to me. It was an expected find in a shop I visited while looking for something else. The print kind of asked me to make a lingerie set with it. Some fabrics carry their future look invisibly imprinted in there and so did this one. I followed it and made a lingerie set. The result is one of the boldest sets, I have made so far. It is floral, lacy, has some pink and some red and yet it is not the flowers, one usually expects to see on lingerie.
Floral prints, textures and prints are not something rare on lingerie. The feminine nature they are supposed to relate to and their delicacy might be the main reason. Or the beauty... I am not sure. Still sometimes flowers appear on a more graphic forms and feel more anime or bold than soft and tender. Love the clean lines and modern feel with bits of cheerfulness and crispness.
The lace is another summer find - it is soft and light, The flowers have a modern feel too, in a different style though and I do love the way mirrored lace makes a new flower along the central seam.
The gingham is another little something that makes me like this set so much -It matches the print colour palette, adds something unexpected while adding color to the back.
The set is in the shop. You can find the knickers alone there too.
